SoundCloud iPhone app gets a facelift: Listening to music becomes the focus
SoundCloud iPhone app was updated on Thursday and the app has got quite a major facelift. Earlier the appβs major focus was to enable users to record and upload audios. Now the update has in fact changed the course of the appβs purpose where more emphasize is given to discovering music and listening to it.
The interface has been redesigned to help you control the app and navigate through it using your thumb via swipes. You could skip a track just by swiping across the screen. If you want to play or pause a track you could simply tap anywhere on the screen!
If you want to explore a particular track and look at its art you could simply slide along the waveform.
The downside, however, is if you have been using SoundCloud for recording and uploading audios, that option is gone now. The update has changed the focus of the app to discovering and listening to music!
When you fire the app, the welcome screen will display popular tracks and audio that are popular among other users. The company has only rolled out a redesign of the iPhone app. The Android update is in works. The iPad app will be redesigned later this year.
And, more importantly, if you donβt have a SoundCloud account, that need not stop you from using the app to discover and listen to music!
