Product Hunt now has its own iOS app
Product Hunt, a Reddit-like platform that serves a daily list of new software and products, has now launched its own product - an iOS app. Product Hunt is a platform for new tech products and services. The platform displays a list of new releases as well as acts as a directory/index of products that users can vote and rank just as on Reddit.
Product Hunt founder Ryan Hoover said that even though people come to his site every day the mobile experience was not so great, which is why a dedicated iOS app is launched. With the app, Hoover says that people are provided with an easy way to access the list of new products even when they are on the way to somewhere.
The app is sleek and very basic with the submit button on top where product/software owners can submit their new product to be listed on Product Hunt. Users can sort the products based on what new (the default view is the βpopularβ sort). If users click on a particular product they can vote and share the product.
Product Hunt started in last November and is not even a year old! It started as a simple email list. According to it founder, Ryan, the startup has no problem with fundraising since investors reach out to them. Since Product Hunt is considered somewhat as a news source to investors, it seems the iOS app was one of the most requested features!
